Baldwin Park Students Shine in Music Competition

Eleven talented student musicians from Baldwin Park and Sierra Vista high schools showcased their musical talents during the Annual Baldwin Park Woman’s Club Music Scholarship Competition on Jan. 22.

The competition, held to support and encourage young musicians, awarded three standout performers with scholarships and prizes. This year’s winners were:

  • Jade Lopez, Baldwin Park High School – Pop Vocal
  • Wilfredo Calderon Padilla, Baldwin Park High School – Classical Instrument
  • Diego Santana de Leon, Sierra Vista High School – Pop Instrumental

Each winner received a $250 scholarship along with a $10 gift card to In-N-Out. Judges praised the students’ performances, calling it an incredible experience and commending them for their dedication to music.

In addition to their awards, the winners earned the opportunity to advance to the San Gabriel Valley District Woman’s Club Competition, where they will compete for a $500 scholarship. Students who wish to participate must submit their applications by Feb. 4. The District competition will take place on March 14 at the Covina Woman’s Club.

Baldwin Park Unified School District appreciates the collaboration and support from the Baldwin Park Woman’s Club as it continues to provide young artists with opportunities to showcase their talents and pursue their musical aspirations.
